Branding and a Webflow Website for a Developer Team: Scoutbytes Case Study
In short

Hotburo case study: Scoutbytes brand and website from scratch — a modular logo, a pattern from the name in binary, interactive graphics, built on Webflow.

Scoutbytes is a developer team building complex, high-performance digital products for tech companies. They came to us for a brand and website from scratch. The logo, graphics, website and animation had to work as one system — not a set of separate solutions but one idea running through the whole project.

  • Client: Scoutbytes, a software development team
  • What we did: logo, brand system and guidelines, merch, marketing materials, website design and Webflow development
  • System foundation: a square module

The idea: a square module

We didn’t start with the logo but with a principle to build the whole brand on: a square module. Combined, the squares form the lines of the logo. We deliberately offset the modules so even simple geometry conveys movement — like the team itself, which loves hard challenges and moves fast.

A pattern made of binary code

Next we translated the name Scoutbytes into binary and turned the sequences of 0s and 1s into graphic modules. They form a pattern — another element of the system, used on merch, in presentations and marketing, and in fragments across the website.

Graphics that respond to the user

On the website, square modules follow the cursor and come alive on scroll in some blocks — the graphics become part of the experience, not just decoration. The palette is restrained: white, grey and black, with orange as the only accent.

For character we added a unicorn — a nod to unicorn companies: among the products Scoutbytes builds there may be future unicorns. It makes the brand friendlier and more memorable.

What we did

Logo, brand system and usage rules, merch, presentation and marketing materials. Then we designed the website, carried the modular system into the interface, added interactive elements, built it all on Webflow, made it responsive and prepared it for launch.

The result

Scoutbytes got a coherent brand and a modern website built on one visual system: logo, patterns, animation and interactive details all work together.

FAQ

What is a modular brand system?

A brand built from one base element — here a square module — from which the logo, pattern and website graphics grow. Everything looks consistent.

Can one team do both the brand and the website?

Yes. For Scoutbytes we did the identity, the design and the Webflow build — with no hand-offs between vendors.
