Hotburo case study: logo, branding and platform design for Tsunammi, a DEX market maker — an identity that works in marketing and in a trading UI.
Tsunammi is a platform for market makers working with decentralised exchanges (DEX). It had no established identity at the start, so first we had to create a brand foundation that works equally well in communication and inside the platform itself.
- Client: Tsunammi, a market-making platform for DEX
- What we did: logo, core branding, platform design
- Industry: crypto, DeFi, trading

The logo: a wave locked in a circle
The mark is a wave inside a circle — our way of expressing the nature of crypto markets, where everything moves and reacts to new conditions. Market makers work with exactly that movement: they provide liquidity and make trading more stable even when prices change fast.
The wave stands for market movement, flow and constant change; the circle adds a sense of system and control. Around the mark we built the core branding: palette, typefaces and identity principles.

Platform design for complex trading data
Next, the identity had to live where users handle large amounts of data and complex processes. So we focused on information structure and ease of use. The brand’s visual system became the base of the interface, with colour and typography creating a clear hierarchy.

The result
Tsunammi got more than a logo and a few brand elements — a coherent foundation for the product to grow. The identity starts with the wave and continues inside the platform, where it helps organise a complex product.
FAQ
How is DeFi platform branding different?
It has to work not only in marketing but also in a data-heavy interface: colour and typography must build hierarchy, not just decorate.
What does the Tsunammi logo mean?
The wave is market movement and the liquidity market makers provide; the circle is control and structure.
